One good looking button on the sink top is all that is visible. The pressure that is necessary to activate the switch is minimal. When I installed this switch I noticed that there was quite a long air tube supplied. Once I had everything routed I cut the tube making it as short as possible. This seemed to make the switch work even better. If you are remodeling and do not want to run a separate circuit for the garbage disposal I would highly recommend that you look into one of these switches.

GREAT!
Works exactly as decreibed. I am no electrician/plumber. I could not have installed my new garbage disposal without it. The installation was easy - pressed the button and it worked the first time. No troubleshooting at all.

This is the second air switch I have purchased for my disposal. The first one lasted about a year and a half before it failed completely. although it was under the sink counter and not subject to physical contact, the plastic nib that hols the air hose to the switch box cracked, and the air chamber was rendered useless. I do not consider that to be a very long lifetime.

Great for the $$
This is the second time I've purchased this air switch, only this time, it was for our house. The first air switch was purchased almost 1.5 years ago (for a customers remodel) and I'd like to report that it's still working good. The finish on the switch is very much like a matte brushed stainless steel/nickel, not bright, shiny polished stainless. . .if that helps anyone. There is only one minor detail, and unless I'm doing it wrong (going by the instructions), the rubber gasket which fits directly under the switch and will rest on top of the counter causes the switch to visually sit slightly above your counter top. The metal" will not sit flush and come in contact with the counter."
